I brought my running shoes to Crete. 7 days, beautiful weather and I thought it would be the perfect place to get some kilometres in before my marathon :)
I was wrong. I ran jsut once and only 3k from our hotel to a tiny grocery shop where I probably counted about 50 products in total 😂
Why? Because our plans started falling apart almost as soon as we arrived. We booked this all-inclusive hotel partly because online it showed a beautiful kids’ room. Perfect, we thought - Holly can play, we can relax a little, and I can prep for my marathon. BUT when we arrived, we found out the kids’ room was only for children over four years old. Fair enough. Rules are rules. But they wouldn’t even let us borrow a toy. Not even a fck* book. So our little girl was bored. And suddenly running was not exactly at the top of the priority list at all. Then we discovered another interesting rule. Dinner had to be booked around two days in advance. In an all-inclusive hotel. 😂 We weren’t the only confused guests. Even when we left, I still didn’t understand why I needed to plan Tuesday’s dinner on Sunday.
And then another surprise. Fresh juices? Extra. Milkshakes? Extra. Most of the nice non-alcoholic stuff? Extra.
We don’t drink alcohol, so our “all-inclusive” experience started feeling pretty f** exclusive. By the second day, we were seriously thinking about leaving and finding another place.
Then Holly got sick. Plans changed again. And that is actually why I wanted to share this video. I went to Crete thinking I would train for my marathon. Instead, I ran three kilometres to a tiny grocery shop. Sometimes you make a perfect plan and life simply says: nope.
You can complain about it. You can spend all your energy fighting reality. Or you can adapt. Running is like that for me. Business is like that.. for me... Life is definitely like that.
You prepare. You make a plan. You think you know what is coming. Anyway, have a nice run thought!

Put your energy there, the rest will become cheap anyway.
Software used to cost a fortune. We spent six digits and years of time to build ours. Today someone can make something that looks like it in a weekend. So what is the real value of a software business now? I went looking in history, because this is not the first time making…

I am deep into AI. I use it every day, I build with it, and I honestly love what these tools let a small team do. Which is exactly why I can't afford to miss what people like Bill Gates are saying. He published a new essay on Gates Notes on the 26th of August. Almost 6000 words…
