I say yes too fast.

I say yes too fast. A call, a coffee, "just 15 minutes", a small favour for someone I barely know. Every single one feels cheap in the moment.

Then Friday comes, I look at the calendar and the week belonged to EVERYBODY except the thing I said was most important.

The yes is never the problem. The problem is that nobody, me included, asks what it replaces.

So a new rule for my diary: before I say yes, I write down what it pushes out. If I can't name it, the answer is "let me come back to you".
