Pull out a drawer and look underneath. That is where you see how a piece was really made.
Dovetails or staples. A solid bottom or a thin panel pinned in place. Runners that still close softly after years, or ones that start to drag after a few months.
Nobody photographs the inside of a drawer. Showrooms rarely talk about it either.
But it is the part you touch every day, and usually the first place where someone saved money.
Before you fall for the front, open it.
