Dulux picked Soulful Sage for 2027. A soft grey green.

Their reasoning is that people want calmer, lighter rooms while the world feels uncertain. Dezeen covered it here: https://www.dezeen.com/2026/09/08/sage-green-colour-year-2027-dulux/

I like the colour. I'm less keen on what usually happens next.

Every colour of the year ends up on one feature wall. Same grey sofa, same cold lighting, one green wall.

Sage needs wood, linen and warm light around it. On its own it looks tired by February.

Paint is the cheap part. The room around it is the work.
