Interesting number out of Cyprus today.
Since the 3 euro duty started in July, parcels from outside the EU are down 30 to 35%. But each parcel now carries four or five items instead of one or two. Customs says they are roughly where they were before.
So people did not stop buying. They buy less often and fill the box.
And from 1 November Cyprus adds a 2 euro processing fee on every parcel from outside the single market, any value. Cyprus Mail has the interview with the customs spokesman: https://cyprus-mail.com/2026/10/21/customs-dept-to-introduce-new-e2-parcel-processing-fee
