Remember my complaint about one app per device? Here's the funniest example yet π
TP-Link pushed a security fix for a lot of Kasa plugs, switches and bulbs. Good, you want that. But the new firmware can stop Home Assistant from controlling them. The workaround? Turn on "Third-Party Compatibility"... inside the Kasa app.
So to keep everything in one place, first you go back to the one app you were trying to escape lol
Spotted it in this week's Local Smart Home Guide roundup π
my take - a security update should never be the thing that breaks your setup. anyone with Kasa stuff noticed this?
