The line that always moves to tomorrow

There is always one line on my to-do list that moves to tomorrow.

Every evening I copy it over. Every morning it is there again, a bit heavier. The small stuff around it gets done, the inbox is clean, I even answer emails I ignored for weeks. Productive day. Except for that one line.

For a long time I called it laziness. It is not. When I finally look at the line properly, it is almost never HARD. It is UNCLEAR. "Fix pricing." "Talk to the team about roles." Those are not tasks. Those are whole rooms with no door.

My brain is not stupid. It picks the work where it already knows the first step.

So now, when something moves three days in a row, I stop and rewrite it. Not "fix pricing" but "open the sheet, write down the prices we have and who pays which". Ten minutes. After that it usually starts moving by itself.

The line that keeps sliding is telling me something. Most of the time: you have not decided yet.
