For the second time in two years, I watched money disappear in a space stock.
The story sounded great.
Big vision.
Big dreams.
Big headlines.
A famous founder.
The future of space tourism.
This time it was shares of Richard Branson’s company, Virgin Galactic.
As investors, we often fall in love with the story.
As business owners, we know something different.
Revenue matters.
Profit matters.
Cash flow matters.
A business can have millions of followers, media attention, and an exciting vision, yet still struggle to create value for shareholders.
This was a reminder that investing and gambling can look very similar when decisions are driven by hope instead of numbers.
The lesson?
Do not invest in what sounds exciting.
Invest in what works.
The market rewards results, not dreams.
Expensive lesson. Fck me...
Hopefully learned this time.
