I tried 7 foundations this year. Here is what I learned.

2024 was the year I became obsessed with finding my perfect foundation. My skin is combination — dry cheeks, oily T-zone. A difficult canvas.

Here is my honest experience.

What I tested

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless, MAC Studio Fix, NARS Natural Radiant, Fenty Pro Filt'r, Huda Beauty, Armani Luminous Silk, and L'Oréal True Match (for comparison).

What I found

Best overall: Armani Luminous Silk. The skin looks like skin. Not matte-mask, not shiny. Just you, but better. The price is painful but worth it once.

Best budget: L'Oréal True Match. For the price? Incredible. Medium coverage, comfortable, decent staying power.

Most overhyped: Huda Beauty. Beautiful in photos. In real life — by midday I looked cakey. Maybe it works better for oily skin types.

Most comfortable all day: Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless. Lightweight, buildable, stays put.

My current rotation

Armani for evenings and special occasions. Charlotte Tilbury for weekdays. L'Oréal for gym-to-coffee-quick days.

You don't need one perfect foundation. You need the right one for the right day.
