Terms of Service
Last updated: 15 May 2026
1. The agreement
These terms are the agreement between you and Publish Ltd, the operator of PUBlish at pub-lish.com. By creating an account or using the site you accept them.
2. Your account
You must be at least 16 years old (or the digital-consent age in your country, whichever is higher). At signup you tick a confirmation that you meet this age; we store the timestamp of that confirmation so we can prove the consent moment if regulators ask. One person per account. Keep your login credentials secret — you’re responsible for anything done under your account.
Real name on your byline. PUBlish is built so that AI engines and Google can cite the writer by name. Sign up with the name you publish under — your real legal name, the name your readers would recognise. Pen names are not permitted on the byline; impersonation (signing up under another real person’s name) is a ground for removal.
Phone verification is optional. You can confirm a phone number via SMS one-time-code from Desk → Verify to earn the “verified writer” mark on your byline. The number itself is never made public; we only display the badge.
You can delete your account any time from Settings → Account → Delete. We can suspend or remove an account that violates these terms or the Community Standards (below).
3. Your content
You own what you write. Pieces, photos, comments, videos — your copyright stays with you. By publishing on PUBlish you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, cache, and serve your content as part of the service. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account.
We don’t train AI models on your work and we don’t sell it to data brokers. Public pieces are indexable by search engines and AI engines (that’s the point) — but we don’t pipe them anywhere else.
4. Community standards
PUBlish is for entrepreneurs writing about their work. The following is not allowed and may result in account removal:
- Harassment, hate speech, or targeted abuse.
- Illegal content, including content that infringes copyright or trademarks you don’t own.
- Spam, link farming, scraped content, or AI-generated content passed off as original work.
- Impersonating other people, including via fake verified profiles.
- Distributing malware, phishing pages, or anything that compromises another user’s account.
We review reports manually. Decisions are explained when we remove content; appeals go to appeals@pub-lish.com.
5. Payments
The core platform is free. Some features (paid newsletter seats, product sales via Stripe) involve money. Money from product sales flows directly from your buyer to your Stripe account — we never hold it. Stripe’s own terms apply to those transactions.
6. Subscribers + your email list
Subscribers to your newsletter belong to you. You can export the full list to CSV from Settings → Subscribers at any time, with no lock-in clause. If you close your account we will give you a final export before deleting the underlying data.
7. Privacy
How we handle your personal data is in our Privacy Policy. Read it.
8. Availability + changes
We aim for high availability but don’t guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance windows are posted in advance. We can change the service over time — material changes that affect what you signed up for are announced 30 days in advance.
9. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, PUBlish is provided “as is” without warranties. We’re not liable for indirect or consequential damages. If a court finds us liable anyway, our total liability is capped at the fees you’ve paid in the previous 12 months (or €100, whichever is greater).
Nothing in these terms limits liability we cannot limit by law (e.g., gross negligence, fraud).
10. Termination
You can stop using the service or delete your account at any time. We can terminate access if you violate these terms; we’ll explain why. Sections that should survive (content licence wind-down, liability, governing law) survive termination.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Disputes go to the courts of London. EU consumer-law rights are not affected.
12. Contact
