Google maps has changed the name shown for Lake Ontario, while Apple Maps still uses the traditional name.

So which one is correct?

And more importantly, who decides when a name should change?

With AI, maps and search becoming part of how we understand the world, these small changes are becoming more interesting.

Because if Google says one thing and Apple says another, which one will people believe?

Maybe the bigger question is not who changed the name.

It is who has the power to change what we see.
