One tip if you use AI on your phone or computer π
π on your computer - open chrome - type chrome://extensions in the address bar - look at the list - anything you don't remember installing, remove it - then for every AI extension you keep, click details - scroll to site access - switch it from on all sites to on click
That one switch means the extension only reads a page when you click it. not your bank, not your email, not everything you type all day
πon your phone - open settings - tap privacy and security - go through microphone and camera - turn off every app that has no reason to be there - a pdf scanner does not need your mic. *on android just search permission manager in settings. you don't have to become paranoid - you just have to stop handing strangers the keys by default :)
Scammers knows that everyone wants to try the new tools. so they build fake versions - fake chatgpt apps, fake claude extensions, free ai video generators that are just malware in a costume. you install one and it quietly reads everything you type. passwords, bank logins, client emails. 3 clients had this same pattern scamms this summer... So be careful using this sh*t:)
