No one takes control over us. We simply give it away.

As an employee, we give away power to our boss.
As a citizen, we give away power to the politicians.
As a friend, we give away power to our bully friend.
&
As an Entrepreneur, we give away power to that bossy client.

I struggled with this for long. I probably still do too. But i never realized this from my own perspective that i give away power often. It only hit me when i was driving back home today from a networking event an hour away.

Out of the blue, i realized that i speak in the same tone to everyone i work with, but a few team members of mine pay me extra respect, somewhat in a slightly fearful manner. It's these people themselves giving me away their power. To be controlled the way i want them to be. You can trust me on the fact that i'm a good human first & an aspirant to be a good boss too. I have my values & beliefs in place to treat everyone the way they deserve to be. It was through this reflection that i realized i'm not any different from them.

I realize i have so much power as an individual in this society, but i just give it away for whatever inhibitions i carry. Knowledge is always the beginning of the right change and Today, with this learning, i aspire to be more aware of the power i carry & use it for the betterment of me, my family & the people around me.
