Last week Apple did a whole event just for the home. Not phones, not watches. The home.
The main thing is HomeView. A screen with a speaker, on the counter or on the wall, $299, shipping 13 November. Siri AI inside, it can use stuff from your iPhone like calendar and notifications, and it controls the devices.
Plus a new HomePod mini, a new Apple TV and a "Home Collection" with LG and Schneider. Locks, cameras, thermostats, sensors. Matter and Thread, so it's not only Apple stuff.

my take - the hardware is not the interesting part. Google and Amazon have had screens on the kitchen counter for years.
The interesting part is Apple saying out loud the same thing I wrote about my garden lights. People are tired of one app per device. They want to say what they want and the house figures it out.
If Siri actually does that, ok, that's big. If it's just one more hub with one more app... then it's another remote in the drawer 😅
Who's actually getting one?
