What actually changed
Opus 5 comes close to Fable 5 intelligence at half the price. I've tried myself and whatched a few videos, that proves that the model is much stronger at verifying its own work and iterating until it succeeds. On Zapier AutomationBench, which measures whether a model completes a business task start to finish, its pass rate is roughly 2x the next-best model at the same cost. Zapier's CEO described - "taking a raw account-health workbook and running a full churn-prevention sequence end to end: flagging at-risk accounts, alerting the right owner, summarizing for retention ops previous models didn't pass, Opus 5 hit 100%." - sounds cool?
What does this mean for your STARTUP? For a two-or-three-person team shipping a Next.js app plus a React Native wrapper plus Shopify apps, that's the difference between one dev and two.
