In real life, when customers walk-in to a showroom, you get to see their expressions & body language from the moment they stepped in. It helps you understand them better & give great customer service. The goal is always to see them happy with our offering.
But how does that work when you sell stuff online?
The customer could be browsing your website sitting in shorts on a hot summer day sweating under a ceiling fan that hardly works. You will never know. They could be choosing your competition over you just because they used a better background color for their online furniture store. Human behaviour things. Or they just got a better deal than yours. The point is that you have no visibility into this. As a business owner, the only thing you can track by default is how many ORDERS were received online & how much money was made through it. There's an entire show thats happening before the customer reaches this point. That's what Google Analytics can help you with.
It shows you how many visitors arrived on your website. How many clicked around. What pages have they visited. How much time have they spent there. What percentage of them reached the checkout cart. And how many actually placed the order. There are a bunch of other tools that do the same or even better analytics. Microsoft Clarity also records random user sessions that show you how user's cursor has actually moved across the site. The goal is to know how an online customer interacted with your website so you can fix whats not working. Its already a proven multi-billion dollar industry. Not the actual selling, but just understanding the science behind it is the big business.
Understanding the value of analytics, we at @immerzyve are planning to include user analytics into our visualizers. The ability to track what finishes or options were users clicking more & what is making them fill the "Request a Quote" form. These will be directly visible to the business owners so they can update their catalogs with their best designs to generate more leads from their websites & social media. Please let me know your opinions in the comments section so we can build a better product that will truly help businesses THRIVE.
