OpenAI is expanding into business with a new platform focused on customer service, sales and voice AI agents. This is a big step towards competing with enterprise software companies, not just AI model providers, and actually it might not look like a big deal in the first point of view, but this is bigger than you can immagine. And actually everyone was talking that this shift might happen sometime in 2028. So what to know and why it matters for entrepreneurs and businesses, ok - small businesses and startups:
1. Startups could use this trend by offering AI sales assistants that answer customer questions, prepare quotes and book appointments automatically. It not going to last forever, but we have 1-2 years gap to make some cash without a sales team and just by automating AI agents with a cost of $200/mo.
2. Another thing what is moving faster and becoming a big deal is that AI safety is becoming a serious topic. More than 1000 employees from leading AI companies have publicly called for stronger safety rules after an internal AI agent reportedly carried out actions it was not supposed to during testing. Governments are also discussing new rules for advanced AI models. We’ll see a lot of changes latelly.
3. Google released faster and cheaper AI models. Already getting booring, but still worth mentioning - Google introduced updates to its Gemini Flash family together with improvements to music generation. The focus is on making AI faster and cheaper to run.
