Most AI funding news I skip after the headline. This one I read twice.
Tomáš Čupr, the Rohlik founder, raised a $32M Series A for Duvo, led by Balderton. Tech.eu wrote it up yesterday, and the part that stayed with me is not the money. It's where the idea came from.
Running Rohlik, he kept hitting the same wall. A lot of how the company actually worked lived in people's heads, and many systems had no APIs. Nothing glamorous. Just the stuff that makes every process slower than it looks on the diagram.
And the number they lead with is not model size or accuracy. It's a cycle time. At Notino, supplier bonus reconciliation went from 70 days to 15, according to Duvo. A CFO gets that in one second.
This is what I keep telling SaaS teams. Feature usage is nice for the dashboard. "This used to take us two months" is what renews the contract.
The other bit I like: proven on messy European operations first (Morrisons, Allegro, Notino), and only now the US push, with a go-to-market lead from Databricks. That order makes much more sense to me than the reverse.
