Read a survey from the Small Firms Association in Ireland and one number I can't stop thinking about. 31% of small firms have not started with AI at all. Last year it was 17%. So it's not getting better, it's going the other way.
For retail it's 38%. Hospitality 41%.
And the reasons are the ones I hear all the time: no technical people (31%), no time (28%). Money is only third.
NO TIME. This is the decisions thing again. You don't have time because the small stuff eats the whole day, and then the one decision that could actually give you time back never gets made. I was exactly the same, so not judging anyone :D
You don't need a big AI strategy or a consultant. Pick one boring task you repeat every week (quotes, follow up emails, whatever it is) and give it one hour with AI this week. One hour. If it doesn't work, ok, you lost an hour.
If you wait for the perfect moment it will be 2028 and the window is closed.
