Yelp is launching Smart Lead Reply. An AI agent that answers Request a Quote messages, asks the customer the right questions and qualifies the lead before the owner even looks. $30 a month. Movers, roofers, plumbers, cleaners. Rolls out in November.
$30 is the cheap part. In service work the job usually goes to whoever answers first, and a lot of owners are on a roof when the message comes in.
What Yelp hasn't said is the part I'd want to know. Can the owner approve replies before they go out? Does the customer know they're talking to software? PPC Land went through the whole announcement this morning and couldn't find either: https://ppc.land/yelp-charges-30-a-month-for-ai-agent-that-answers-and-qualifies-leads
Same lesson as the Wix agents last week. Speed gets people to try it. Control is what makes them keep paying.
